About Water Filtration The Colony

We install and service water treatment equipment in homes across The Colony. When a system stops working, we look for the worn part first, such as an O-ring, a clogged injector or a fouled membrane. If the whole unit is the problem, we say so and show you why.

Why We Open the Unit Before We Quote a New One

Much of what we see is equipment that is still sound but has one failing part. A softener that quits regenerating often has a dirty brine injector or a worn piston seal in the control valve, not a dead resin bed. A reverse osmosis system that fills slowly usually needs fresh prefilters and a new membrane, not a new tank and faucet. A UV system that trips its alarm may only need a lamp or a cleaned quartz sleeve.

So that is where we start. We check water pressure before and after the system, look over the filter housings for hairline cracks, and inspect the resin and the brine tank for salt bridging. Then we tell you what we found, what each fix involves and what it should do for your water.

Replacement is sometimes the honest answer. A cracked mineral tank, a control head with no parts still made for it, or a softener sized for a smaller household than yours will not be fixed by a seal kit. In those cases we explain the reason and give you a written quote for new equipment, with each part listed.

How We Work in Your Home

  1. 01

A water test before any equipment talk

We start by testing your water so the recommendation fits what is actually coming out of your tap. A chlorine taste calls for carbon filtration, while scale on fixtures points toward a softener. The test tells us which problem you have.

  2. 02

    Parts named, not just priced

Our quotes list the cartridge, membrane, valve or lamp by type, plus the labor. You can see exactly what you are paying for and compare it to a repair.

  3. 03

    Sized to your household

We size softeners by grain capacity against your water use and size UV units by flow rate. Oversized equipment wastes salt and money, and undersized equipment lets untreated water through at peak demand.

  4. 04

    Your space left clean

We lay down drop cloths under the sink or in the garage, wipe up every drip and take the old cartridges and packaging with us.

Where We Work

We are based in The Colony and also work in Lewisville, Little Elm, Frisco, Plano, Carrollton, Hackberry, Highland Village, Lake Dallas, Paloma Creek South and Addison. Many systems around here sit in attached garages, so we check housings and tubing for heat wear during every service, since a brittle fitting caught early is a cheap repair instead of a leak.

Start With a Water Test and an Honest Look

Tell us what is going on with your water or your current equipment. We will set up a water test and look at any existing system before suggesting anything new.
